Harrow Reuse Directory is a free initiative offered by Harrow Council for organisations and businesses that work or operate within Harrow to promote repair, reuse and recycling services.
In 2018, the UK generated 222.2 million tonnes of total waste, with England responsible for 84% of the UK total[1]. To help reduce the amount of waste ending up in UK landfills, local authorities across the country are now funding initiatives like the Harrow Reuse Directory, that will not only benefit the environment, but also small local businesses looking to promote their services within repair, reuse and recycling. This will extend further to the local public that access these services, looking to buy restored items like furniture or have something repaired. The circular economy is crucial not only for small businesses to survive the pressures of high street retailers, it also promotes value, so people can make conscious decisions about what is usually considered as “waste”.
Businesses that would like to register need to be based, or operate, in Harrow.
